VSS problem and windshield wipers.

I dont post much here. i try to read as much as possible and learn without having to clutter the forums. But this problem has my buddies and i completely stumped.

The car is a 98 kouki. S2 RB25 with RB20 transmission.

We pulled the speed sensor from a twincam ka transmission we had laying around. i assumed i was looking for wires on my lower harness that matched the wires on the sensor.(i used the ka lower harness) so i spliced the matching wire colors with a plug that was on the lower harness that needed to be extended. green to green. black to black. nothing. Went back and read a lower harness prep that i had on my flash drive. it was for an s13 and it said the wire colors i was looking for were yellow and yellow with a red stripe i believe. i dont have these. wat i DID find was a similar looking plug with a red wire and a red wire with a yellow strip. so i spliced it to these. now my speedo works but it reads like double wat it should. going through the neighborhood it reads 50. on the highway its pegged out! well i switched the wires with the thought of reverse polarity in my head(kinda liek how e fans work) still reads double wat it should. any ideas?

Also, i screwed up and sent my harness to rummel autosport to ahve them convert it. They promised me everythign would work etc. when i recieved the harness my wipers dont work and i ended up having ot make my own harness for my knock sensors. is there anything i can do to get my wipers to work?

you need to use a s14 vss with the s14 cluster the s13 one will read incorrectly as you have found out...about double of actual!
