I have found a 3 pc strut bar kit on ebay for the cheap. I just was wondering about the quality and whether it will make a difference. I am open to all suggestions, except some JDM high priced just for name stuff.

They will give you the bling, and everyone will know you have cheap parts.

Do they make handling better? a little, depends on what you do, how well you drive. That rear lower tie bar tho is usually useless & and when i put mine on (megan racing one) it didn't quite fit.

If you have the money, get a better one. Especially if you are going into any sort of track (i.e. road racing, autox, etc). I've had both the cheapies and the goodies - the difference? daily driving I can tell there is more flex w/o them (I have coilovers & swaybars, so road feel is more exagerrated compared to stock). Auto-x I don't know yet because I've only gone w/o strut bars due to some weird clearance issues.

If you look for one of the realllly old reviews of adjustable ebay bars - you will see that they bend quite a bit during some independent testing. Nonadjustable may be a little better.

Again, if you are just putting it on to put it on, it's not going to matter. You money is better spent on springs/struts or coilovers depending on what you are trying to do. Strut bars & sway bars are fine tuning pieces once you already have a decent suspension.

Well, I am glad that someone was honest without being a smartass. I want them just as much for the bling as for the go. No, I am not a silly ricer, I do not have neons or spinners, but a somewhat functional part that looks good is accepted. If there are better pieces out there for not much moe money, then I will look into that. I am debating several types of suspension upgrades. I daily drive and run back roads around my house, mostly 45-90 mph roads, fairly smooth. What is a good spring/shock combo for this?

Searching will probably be your best friend, since no one person has gone through all the suspension and able to tell you exactly what will be the best bang for your buck.

A solid and easy to do combo is the kyb agx + rsr spring combo - very stiff but still "comfortable". Or kyb agx + sportlines, tein springs, etc. There's also a few other options such as koni yellows + ground control springs, etc - you can usually find reviews for that floating around on this board somewhere.

If you can stand coilovers (much more stiff and doesn't like too many uneven roads), I'd look into Megan Racing Coilovers, which are just a tad more than springs/struts.

If you save up more money, you can get KTS coilovers, lots of ppl love them including myself, from splparts.com.

Do that, suspension arms (depending on how low you go and how much you have) and tires and you should be good for a while.
