I'd say if you had a 'stock' sr with say 190rwhp then it would pretty much come down to the driver. sure he'd take you on the launch but you'd probably pull on him pretty quick

Since evryone is real intersted in these question the simpliest way to do your own math is to figure out your cars power to weight vs who evers cars power to weight using whp, you can approximate it since it is a est in the first place. If you don't have a significant amount on your opponent then don't expect it to be easy victory.-James

Why in hell did you bump this back up for? It's mainly about power/weight, drivetrain power loss, driver. They told you your answer, now go do the math.

actually i think the stock sr would have a little less than 190 rwhp probbably closer to 180 and of course the gsx would jump of the line but i dont think you would be gaining on him if so not quickly cause gsx even though they have more drivetrain loss cause of awd the 4g63 is very similar to the sr in power and with an intake and exhaust on a turbo motor it would probably have significant power gains

I hate stuff like this, I hear it all the time at the hangout usually from people who rode in a buddies POS out to the spot or have their moms chevette out that night. There's the street, go find out. People benchrace too much and then use stupid hair-brained mathematical equasions to win theoretical races and then talk psudo-smack. If the cars are there SHUT UP AND RACE!

Exactly..but the key here is this guy doesnt have an SR yet. When and if he does..we'll all find out. but people dont realize the 'driver' aspect is very crucial. In cars with similar hp levels vs. weights it's all up to the driver. Also, what I like to do is research online in like Consumer Reports like... say what the GSX did (stock of course) in the 1/4 on the road test. Also research my car's stock 1/4 mile. Figure in the light mods and go by those numbers. If you do a little research it's also simple to find weights of each vehicle, etc. But of course in the end just get the damn sr asap and RACE!

In my opinion You guys giving your own thoughts on outcomes of races gives the person that is going to race a little more confidence,a bit of hope, or complete discouragement. He turns to people who have been there, or that know more about his car than he does.( Those people are you) You guys have given me your thoughts on races before and it really helps to hear you can win if that is the case.

gsx is a heavy car. 400 pounds over a gst if i remember right. Alot depends though on a little boost controller. He could have a manual boost controller under the hood somewhere and he will beat you then. but a gsx with intake and exhaust vs sr with intake and exhaust, youll win.

Oh god, I know exactly the color you are talking about. At least what it lacks in speed it makes up for in attitude, that yellow was be-right!

we still got that car! it's bad ***. it was my pop's car when he was younger. when he got it he put two HUGE living room speakers in the back and used to bump some Who and Zepplin :ylsuper ! (there gone now). problem is it's up at my grandparents house in Maine and I'm in charlotte nc. they want to get rid of it (don't know why) but don't want to try and sell it for the 20 bucks it's worth (although it's only got 73k miles on the original engine). I wanna drive the "vette" down here but I'm a little horrified at the thought of driving that distance on the highways and byways in that car.

House speakers? i thought I was the only one who did that! I had big 10" in the trunk of the Nova I had in High School. Back in 89' that was a slammin system, chumps with 6x9s had to move over so i could get my bump on. Dude drive the vette, just take a week off and take tools, videotape it like KonTiki or somethin.
