I'm trying to find the engine so i can put it into a shell i have. i have found vq35de and vq35det, but i want the hr version. any help to where i can find one. price isn't a big factor as long as its with in reason.

thats ok my friend blew up his engine in his z33 i dont know how but the moron did, so i bought it so it would go to a good owner.I thought i should update the motor while im at it and get a hr but it seems like no luck.

Hr will be quite a task to find until it gets to the later years, IIRC it was introduced in only 07 Nissan models.

i searched around online and i couldn't find the engine. But does anyone know how much it would cost to do the mods to make a de to a hr ? or if they even sell the parts individual. to do that kind of upgrade.

ITS 80% new so its better to just wait it out till someone wrecks one and parts it out

Can't buy just the parts. You would need a multitude of parts. Best bet is to find a crashed 07 Z.

If you are planning to go FI, I would go for the VQ35DE. They have more parts available. Looks like you have a very nice project Z in the works. Take lots of before pics so when you are done you could show them off. http://www.salvageautosauction...01430here is an example

Because his engine is blown, and going from a VQ35 to the HR35 is like going from a Maverick to an Arabian.

To go to an HR you will neeed an HR motor, new wiring harness, new computer, new intake boxes, new hood/paint. Just to fit a stock HR. Waste of time and money.

R350Zz33, Your car is less than a year old. It’s not even out of warranty yet. Why change so much so soon? If I remember correctly, I saw in another thread that you’re 18. Is this correct? When I was 18 I couldn’t afford a $28k+ car let alone all the stuff you’re getting for your Z. If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of job do you have to be able to afford all of this? Or are mom and dad paying for it? I mean no offense…I’m curious.
