I posted this in the EX fourm but not many viewers yet...Maby you guys can give me some feed back>>> Thanks

The EX VQ35HR 3.5-liter V6 engine (290hp) is the same as in the new Nismo350Z and Infinity G... both are tuned to more than 300hp stock! Not to mention there are aftermarket parts like Twin Turbos and Superchargers for this VQ35HR making it push closer to 400hp>>>

Will it be possible to crossgrade (EX35) aftermerket parts and tune??? Or will we see parts pop up after the release of the EX>??

Also, what would be a better set up for the EX... twin Turbo or a Supercharger...? I was thinking Supercharger if not just for the fact that the EX is Auto only//? And will thAT 5at" HOLD UP TO HIGER HP?//

Welcome to Nico! I think the difference in the HP numbers are due to the exhausts. Some parts will work for both models...but others won't. Exhaust is typically different...but intakes should be similar. Your best bet is to call an aftermarket merchant to get the true answer.

Next, your question on which FI to use....man that's a loaded question. There are vast difference between turbo and Supercharging. Check out this turbo thread for some answers on that type of FI.

To put it simply, turbos are more expensive, difficult to install, and give higher boost due if you use a twin setup. Superchargers are less expensive, easier to install (you could do it yourself) but have less boost...only one compressor. Some, like the roots-type (Stillen), will require additional hood clearance. Others, Vortech, can be very stealthy.

In the end it depends on your budget and preference as to which direction to go. Personally, I'm going to go with Vortech and install myself...but I'll still need a custom tune.

Thanks for the info... I do know a good bit about turbos, my current car is a Subaru LGT 2.5T>>> I love the feel of a Turbo Car! What I am less experienced with is the S.C... What i like is it seems you get full boost rite away with the SC! with an Auto transmission this seems better (No clutch to spool up Turbo)

From the power perspective, it seems Nissan/Infiniti intentionally keep power numbers for non-sport vehicles below that of the "sport style". Thus, a Quest should not be as fast as a 350z nor should a EX be as fast as a G35 Sport Sedan (nor 350z ). This is done via Manifold configuration, ECU tune, intake itself and exhaust. (I'm not disagreeing with Joe, just expounding on it )

From a TT vs. SC perspective, space is also a commodity dependant on the configuration. FWD has a problem with TT where RWD might not. SC will fit either and as stated above is far easier to install, yet does not offer as much power as a TT configuration.

Agreed... That was my intrigue with this EX, the fact that it is obviously "De-tuned" 35HR.. It is allways a thin line between Econemy and Performance...lol Same for my Legacy GT" with the same 2.5Boxer the LGt was tuned to 250hp instead of 300 like the StI>>> that is until a remapp! Seems this EX could be quite the sleeper>> :-)

Absolutely.

The question remains whether the aftermarket will design parts specifically for the EX or if the owner will need to customize G-designed parts, which would be a pain.

Exactly my question... I guess we will have to wait and see...

If nothing else.. opening up the Exaust and a popcharger/Ztube with a custom tune, should make her breath a little better and squeeze out some more HP ;-)

Maybe, maybe not. In "real world" conditions, the Nissan "intakes" are pretty good regardless of "dyno results" which usually only show hp gains on a cold engine. Exhaust is probably more important and don't forget about lightened flywheel pullys.....
