Theoretically, a larger sump size can go longer on an oil change for obvious reasons - more oil means more antiwear and detergent additives, etc to go through. Though without used oil analyses, specifically ones that give you the total base number (TBN) and ideally TAN (total acid number), you can't blindly extend the oil change interval excessively. I certainly wouldn't, especially with the VQ35DE's tendency to shear oil quickly.fleurys wrote:just wondering... why would it be cool to hold an extra quart of oil ?? it's not a diff, so it won't help for cooling.... just cost more when you do an oil change !... someone can chime in on this ?
