What VQ35DE cams from another application will work in our coupes? I know different years and configurations used some that controlled both intake and exhaust and some that only controlled intake. Ive been looking for cams and I keep seeing some offered that says not for 05+ revup engine. But I think that is only for the 350Z or am I wrong? Any feedback just let me know.

Check out Jim Wolfe Technologies. I have the stage I cam set with springs. Had my buddy install it (with my help). No radical tune needed. Definitely a nice upgrade! :chuckle:

Thats one of the websites I looked at. That and Crower. I just didnt know if the ones they offered were compatible with our engine. But obviously it is and Im glad someone has done it. Im pretty sure I could do it in my garage with a buddy of mine who is a mechanic at a mustang shop close to where I live as long as its not anything too serious. I did my cams in my 05 mustang gt I had and it took about 8 hours but everything came out great. Did you have to take the engine out or how did you go about all of it. I didnt know how much access you had to the rear head. How did the increase feel to you? I know there might be a difference with the cvt vs manual but could you tell a pretty good difference? I want something that provides a good increase in power and puts a little aggressiveness into the idle. Thanks for the help!

Anyone got input on some cams for our VQ35? I can't find any information or reviews...

Says it works for our engine, but i don't know if it'll work with FWD. It doesn't list it in altima compatible parts but its compatible with the engine.

Edit: Mind you, I wouldn't mention you were from Nico if you inquire about it.

I was looking into the Cosworth cams personally, but to be completely honest I have never worked with cams...or really engine upgrades outside of intakes, headers, exhaust, and I used a superchip tuner on the Jeep couple times. This is my first car I am playing with so be nice please.
Now, the wife will not allow me to drop a bunch of cash right now, so I am just doing research and trying to learn/soak up knowledge at the moment (I should be coming across a little bit of cash within 6-8 months though that is strictly for the car). Here are some question I have though:
I have looked at a couple sets of cams and the say "RevUp" or "High Rev" Wtf do those mean?
So lets say I pick up a set of cams...what's next? (I am not seeking install instructions, but more of what else do I need?) I hear all this stuff about springs and rods...wtf is that s***?

You need or want the springs in order to rev up the engine past the redline mark. For example if the car redlines at 7k rpm, with the valve springs you will be able to pass that mark safely. But its all in the tune once installed. Rev up or high rev I cannot help you on that. Last thing I knew it had to do with which model engine you have on the 350z.

el_blacky is correct. High rev refers to the VQ35HR motor. It revs a couple hundred RPM's higher than the standard motor with a little more horsepower. The cams I posted specifically state they will not work with the HR motor.

Dangeris, you still have those cams installed? Any video or sound clips? Also what kinda performance gain did you notice?
