I am new hear and would like to first say that I am glad to be a member here on nicoclub. Now on to business.

I am doing research on a vq35 swap for my 96 240sx. I have searched the forums for days on here and can't quite seem to find a detailed write up on what is required. I currently have a motor and transmission out of a 2004 infinity g35 and plan on using the mckinney mounts since I have read repeatedly on here that vqswap.com is unreliable and cannot be trusted. I've also read that his product is junk so. . . . . . .

My questions are in the wiring and ecu department. What is required to do this swap? I've heard that a standalone ecu is the easiest route but I've also read that it isn't a must and is really useless unless the motor is going to be boosted later on. I will be performing all the work myself and would like to keep costs down since as of now I hve nothing in the swap(motorset was free).

I know this swap has been performed succesfully but I don't want to source info from 30 different threads(thats how swaps go bad). Any knowledge that you guys can throw my way will be greatly appreciated. If I have left any info out that your info depends on feel free to ask and I will anser any questions.

be sure to use a 350z or g35 coupe ecu and engine harness, send the ecu to UpRev to have it tune to for swapping the engine into a different car. after that it should be pretty easy to wire up.

I will check out the s14 in the for sale section and try to get in touch with the owner to see if he can lend a helping hand.

What I'm really looking for though is someone who can actually wire up the harness for me. This service was available through vqswaps.com but seeing as howthey have been found to be unreliable I don't want to take the chance on them.
