Should Richard (Richie / R350Zz33) be let back into the forum after yet another vacation. I am really tired of the grammer and stupidity and fixing to move myself to another forum as well as a few I chat with.

I've seen some of his posts, and they truely are a work of art, but infinitly banning him should be up to the moderators. Sure, 350/370 forum users probably wouldn't mind a Richard free forum, but banning one account won't necessarily stop him.

Sure, I hate stupid, thick headed, have to throw my knowledge/opinion around, think I know everything forum members that should remain in the shadows, but, in the end, watcha gonna do.

Maybe he'll learn...maybe he won't. In the end, I don't think anyone took his replies seriously anyway.

A few things that we need to get straight.

Starting a thread about a banned member is not acceptable.

What you are doing is by most standards, trolling.

The NICO Administration will decide if someone is to be brought back from a ban, or not. Users making Polls about whether or not someone should be allowed back is bad netiquette and also not allowed on this site.

I am sorry to hear that you want to go to another forum. I don't ever want to see any of our members leave. Threatening the NICO Administration is not going to help your cause.

Have you heard of email? You should have emailed me about this situation instead of making a thread like this.

Yes, I agree that many of Richie's threads are not the content that we really want. But as an Administrator, I have to read them. He is a member that causes issues. You don't have to read them. If I were you, I wouldn't bother clicking them.

I also know he replies to many posts in a rather distracting way. That is what your forum moderators are here for. When this happens, his posts should be deleted.

Just as with any forum, or most jobs, people's actions have consequences. We don't perma ban someone on their first mistake. The goal is kind of like time out or groundation when you are a kid. We hope that a short ban will help a member to think about not repeating their actions that generated the ban, and that they become a better member of the community. The normal course of action is:

First violation of the TOS = 1 week ban.Second violation of the TOS = 2 week ban.Third violation of the TOS = 1 month ban.Fourth violation of the TOS = Permanent ban.

These rules also are not carved in stone. If a person is a relentless troll or a spammer, posts p0rn, uses racial epithets, threatens another member, creates a second account to circumvent a ban etc. their account will be perma banned immediately.

Now in Richie's defense, I will say that I have read a lot of his posts lately. He has made some improvements in the last few months. Granted, he really digressed within the last few days.

I think part of that is to be blamed on the fact that the kid can't ever catch a break. Someone is always riding his a** and flaming him. Hell, someone is always giving him crap about his tires. It was funny for a week, then it was just sad. I know he brings a lot of this on himself with threads like "18's in the front and 17's in the rear". He is a rich kid. So what? Some kids get to grow up much more fortunate than the rest of us. It is life. He makes terrible decisions. So what? Hopefully he will learn from them. We are not his parents and we are not responsible for his actions. (Thank God)

I think that if he had a few people who would actually give him a second chance, and I mean really give him a second chance, he would be a better member of the community.

This is unbelievable I cant find a thread that Richie hasnt said something stupid or a thread that someone doesn't call him out for a stupid comment. But nevertheless to all who felt offended by this I apologize to those and the rest who agree, kudos.

Bean I did not email because I have had this discussion with Ryan before, a long time ago and it got progressively worse with Richie. I was not trying to force the Administration to not bring him back I was trying to see if ALL the people that are constantly complaining about this felt the same way. I understand that the NICO administration makes the final decision on an account and knew that prior to my post.

If you feel I have violated a TOS in any way please ban me, I accept full responsibility for what I have done. I feel on the other hand that if you felt this was that bad the thread should have been immediately taken down and YOU should have emailed me and discussed this amongst ourselves, not the way you have done here.

Richie was doing good there for a bit, but he does bring a lot of this on himself. Unfortunately no matter how much we get on him here he won't change, lets atleast hope he'll grow up and mature.Personally, my solution, if he posts something stupid your thread, don't flame him, simply report it to the mods and have it deleted. I know I have to refrain sometimes, and I'm not always a doer of what I preach. But on a board, the best thing you can do is ignore him.My .02Mods sorry about the language in my pic in his thread.

I agree with BlackSmoke. I do not post very often because I travel for work. When I do have time to check the forum I have to weed through Richies BS an unintelligent posts. This is a big waste of my time and gives our forum a bad reputation. If he does come back I hope he learns to respect this forum.

please ignore his posts! thats all we can do. I will edit them as i catch them but it doesn't help when i have to edit your flaming comments too. Takes a long time to do. The Auto X thread i cleaned up the other day, took wwwaaaayyy too long and it ended up pissing me off so that was all i edited and then logged off.... If you guys ignore him and i can delete/edit his posts easier then he will calm down. In every thread i have deleted his posts he straightens up from there on in that particular thread - i've noticed. Until he gets his Perma Ban, we need to just keep our personal opinions to ourselves, or just vent to me via email - i love reading those kind of emails

This is OUR Forum, not Richies... Don't let him take it over! We together control the content of each thread. Ignoring a single member could be easily done, at least until it is deleted. If anyone at all has a thread that he has polluted (from here on out) let me know and i will lock it, clean it, then re-open it. If not me, BusyBadger is the other 350Z/370Z Mod and then there is Beancooker...

This may already exist and I'm making a fool of myself, but wouldn't it be easier just to have an "ignore" button and the post of the person you actually want to ignore will just not show up? I think other forums have this. Plus, it would go better because he or anyone can just make new accounts. If you don't IP ban him, that is.

This is an option if you are using Firefox and are running the FireNICO plugin.

Ignore users, kill threads you don't want to see and loads of other options.

Perma bans are just that. Permanent. It will not be reversed, and there will not be new crap added to the forum to make a user be less of a PITA.

As far as a banned member creating a new account, so what. They will be banned again. It takes me about 10 seconds to ban someone. IP bans only take about 30 seconds.

It is done. End of story.
