I need the interwebs help. I know I haven't been on here in quite sometime or even on Facebook. There are many reasons why but why I'm posting this to help get our shops motorcycle entry to win! If you do or don't know, I work at Lake Shore Harley Davidson. I know, I'm still in love with metrics and all that good stuff but this job is the most fun I've ever had and that's why I'm here.
Last year Harley Davidson Motor Company (HDMC) introduced an entry level bike into their lineup, The Street 500 & 750. They cost about 6-8K, pretty cheap to get on a Harley and work your way up. They also introduced a contest they called "Custom Kings." The purpose of the contest was the get their new bike out in the public eye. They asked dealers to create a custom bike. Our dealership entered the contest, made it past our district, regional and all the way to the final top 7 bikes in the nation. Unfortunately we did not win but we were happy we got to the finals.
HDMC has decided to have the contest again with a different motorcycle this time, the Sportster. It has many different iterations but we could use any one we wanted and we chose the iron 883. This bike was a tribute to Dimebag Darrell as the team lead here is a huge fan of his and has a personal connection to him. We made it past the first round which is decided by HDMC and the rest of the rounds are decided by fan vote. This is where you all come in to play. I am including a link to my dealerships page which has a link on it's main page. You just have to cycle through the voting page where you can vote once a day and I hope you all do. I will also have a link to our Facebook page where you can go to the photos tab and check out the pics of the build and the bike itself.
Today is the first day of voting to make it from 64 to 32 to 16 etc. Voting takes place for one week until the next round starts. If you all would be so kind as to help us actually win this time, that would be awesome! If anything, you guys can check out the cool bikes that some of the dealers have made.
p.s. One of these days I'll get back on here as I still have the 240
