wow again, my friends z wont rev part 1.5k with the charger installed. we installed it fine, ran awesome then after a while it starts this, the car has goodplugs, the other mods are clutch / fw combo, borla true dual exhaust, test pipes, i was told the test pipes could be causing the car to think its too rich and that might be the issue but if we pull negative it runs fine for a while, we double checked wiring and i still cannot find anything. again the issue is that the car will run fine for a while then at random it wont let u rev it past like 2k it just jerks kinda like a fuel cut

first of all it could be a fuel pump issue, when you ask for higher pressure from a stock unit they can heat up and fail, is this car using all stock electronic's? piggyback? stand alone? are you using a RRFRR? what is the base pressure?

Does it occur at the same RPM all the time? Is there a check engine light at all?

What are the spark plugs gapped at?

I am thinking either the ECU is going into failsafe for some reason, or the spark is being blown out (though the latter seems less likely as the 350Z uses individual coil packs and boost should be light at 1.5K RPM with a centrifugal supercharger).

If it's at the same RPM regardless of throttle position, then it's likely the ECU going into failsafe. Something is probably wrong with the wiring or the piggyback that Vortech uses.

I sounds like it is in safe mode. this will keep it from blowing up if it notices something really wrong. You will have to disconect the ecu for an hour or so then reinstall. I should work. If it pops back into safe mode stop driving and go get it looked at. there is a problem. Sorry about the news. I know from my own bad experience.
