Volume on radio...possessed?

This morning as I was sitting in my driveway warming up my Pathfinder, the volume on the radio was raising on lowering by it self....I turned the radio off then back on and haven't had any problems since.Is this a starting problem with the volume control on the steering wheel?

The Bose system in my 01 Pathfinder did this also. I thought it was a speed sensitive volume control that was going haywire. I never fixed it. I replaced the head unit with an Alpine head unit. I have a thread on NICO that explains what I did although not in great detail.
