Do volt stabilizers work? I see there are some on the market claiming improvement in tq response, acceleration, audio quality, headlight brightness, fuel economy, etc etc. These seem like ridiculous claims to me. They are pretty inexpensive though, so if they work at all it would be worth it. The best reviews I have found are on the ADHOC Voltaggio. http://www.adhoc-tech-sci.com/

Has anyone installed one on their Rogue or another Nissan or Infiniti? Thanks.

dont even waste your money lol - the results are sooooo minimal, and dont save you a penny over time.
2ndly i wouldn't put that cheap crap near my car, because if it shorts out - it could spike your electrical system and burn out your BCM, etc.

Figures. What performance parts do you recommend for the Rogue?

I looked in to putting the Injen CAI for the Sentra SE-R on mine, but I think it would just be a noisemaker and drop your gas mileage down a tad. I will probably just go with the K&N Drop in instead.

lol, what a question. by no means anything against you - more against the designers at Nissan.
(below are only my opinions)
now dont get me wrong, i love my Rogue. Its comfortable, Its just big enough, Its just small enough, Its all wheel drive, Its quality.... but god does it lack in performance inspiring looks & power! lol (no other way i could have put it)

to be honest with you, yes there are a "few" things (and by "few" - literally mean just a couple) you can do to the Rogue that will improve performance, but they come at a price tag that's often way more than the power you get out of that mod.

1. CAI, roughly 200-300, right? not worth it in my opinion to MAYBE get 1hp at the wheel. [try a drop in k&n filter instead]
2. Cams, by the time its done, almost $1,000. again not worth it in my opinion.
3. Exhaust work. another couple hundred - but you really wanna be driving around with a rice-racer sounding mini SUV, while having no other performance work? meeeh. not my thing.
4. Suspension work. another couple hundred - but what you get is a really rigid ride. looks great, handles better - but a slew of problems later from prematurely worn ball joints, struts, control arms, bushings, bearings, etc.

other custom work - and by custom i mean like turbo retrofit, etc - is it possible? heck ya, anything is possible. but its going to be thousands.... and thousands spent on a car that looks like simple conservative suv. that being said as much as i hate the poor quality of BMW, but boy do they know how to design sporty looking cars. cars that even just some exhaust work could make sound even meaner, faster, and impressive.

me personally im building my car to suite my needs comfort wise, and some subtle changes here & there. tints, xenon fog lights, some carbon fiber wrap here & there, some plasti-dip touches, etc. little touches that dont scream RICE RACER, and just enough to NOT keep it bland like a stock Rogue.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I want to do too. Small subtle changes. I don't want it to sound too much like a racecar, so no full racing exhaust. Possibly still do the injen CAI, but probably not

So far:
20% tint all around $170.
OEM spoiler which came paited. After I paid to have it installed only $160.
Sylvania Silverstar ZXE's $100.

Next:
The cheap mesh insert mod.
K&N Drop in filter.
Fog Lights (don't know what kind)
New Rims/Tires.

i had the stock rear windows tinted, and i added additional 20% all around. so my front windows are 20, and the back are 20 + w/e the stock tint is.

hey did you order your spoiler on ebay? possibly form a seller AAAManagment? ;)

Spoiler...yeah umm. It is more for decoration these days like installing fake hood scoops. The funny part I remember a friend of mine purchased nissan altima then installed spoiler on it and he was telling everyone that he feels that the car actually goes to the ground and stable on turns...especially when he's on highway. Dang...childhood was a good time to laugh

Maybe he drives everywhere at 200 mph? :chuckle: Seriously, as you said spoilers for this car (and for Altimas) are really more cosmetic than functional. I never understood how people though putting a rear spoiler on a FWD vehicle would help performance. I would think if anything it may actually "push" your rear end down at higher speeds but adversely that same action would have to somewhat "lift" your front end up wouldnt' it?

I always laugh when I see someone put a 4 foot tall spoiler on something like a sentra....they must want a TON of downforce on the rear wheels.

Anyway, I agree with you completely.

even with a FWD you want a good deal of down-force on the rear, as it will help the vehicle during turns, steering, and taking some weight off the front.
as you guys im sure have realized that when braking hard - the fort suspension loads up, and steering become less effective.

but you guys are also right that the spoilers mounted on cars today are simply aesthetic. most of the cars' aerodynamic design doesn't send enough air downward to the spoiler anyway. without a full front & rear spoiler kit, that actually perfectly distribute down-force, they are useless anyway.

Exactly. I look at a WRX STI and that setup looks functional. I look at a riced out four door 95 sentra with a huge wing on the back and I have to laugh.
