I'm planning to buy a set of Volk GTPs in 17x7 and 17x8 respectively. I'm unsure of which offsets to go with. Would like to run about 235 or 245/40s max in rear and 215 or 225 max in front. Want the right setup to run those tires without rubbing and at the same time not tucking in the fender or sticking outside the fender. This is on an s13 and do not want to roll fenders and will run on spring/shock setup only. No coilovers or big brake upgrades either.

I was on Volk's website and I really don't understand the difference between A and B as well..any help on that? Thanks

Btw, here's the link to the site for wheel spec options:

Be cautious, the GT-P may be discontinued soon if not already..

OK I have test fit this setup on my car so it is safe and sure to fit, albeit a bit "conservative" (all my recommendations are) according to my nico brethren...

Front: 17x8 +35 215/45-17

Rear: 17x8+35 245/40-17

This setup sits so nicely and without complication under the s13.

The A and B denote the size (depth) of the bolt pad as it reaches farther toward the back of the wheel. This alters offset greatly. Take a look at the backside of a wheel from a Lancer EVO that has Brembo kit. The back of the spokes are extremely flat, but the bolt pad reaches FAR into the wheel..

The wheels with Super High Pad fit the big brake kits. Rays makes it very easy by telling you exactly which wheel will fit over which package.

Rays lists pad types as:Super High Pad Type(offset Z)High Type (offset A)Mid Type (offset B)Low Type (offset C)

Super high clears big brakes, high type clears some, mid type not so many, low type "test fit first".

Now if only they could speed up build time... Rays builds one wheel style at a time. If they're doing GT-C this month, we wait for LE37 until Rays decides to build more...

Hope you found an answer to your question somewhere in there....

Thanks SmithSR, that's exactly what I was looking for.
