First let me start off by saying I'm totally confused when it comes to wheel/tire fitment (I've read the sticky and looked at the calculator) I'm interested in the Volk CE28N wheels. I want to get 19x8.5 on the front and 19x10 rear (I'm going to roll fenders)I know I want to run a +30mm offset for the fronts. Here's where it becomes messy for me. I want to add a little bit of deep dish to the rears but can't for the life of me figure out what offset I need to accomplish that. I would like a 1 1/2-2 inch lip for the rear. Also can anyone suggest a tire size for the wheels size I mentioned?

how is the sticky confusing, it tells you exactly what offsets to run. it also specifies that the g37 can't run as aggressive of an offset as the g35 coupe.

suggested is 30-35mm front for an 8.5" wheel. you have opted for a 30 which is fine. you wish to run a 10" wheel in the rear and suggested is 30-35mm for a 9.5" wheel. Since the wheel is going to be 1/2" wider or 12.5mm I would opt for the 35mm offset on the 10" wheel, rolling the fenders as you said you would will help to fit a 10" wheel w/30mm offset. now you wish to have some lip in the back. lip depends on offset and it also depends on the style of the wheel. the ce28 isn't designed around a big lip.

here are ce28's on a first gen sedan, rear wheels 9.5 with 22 offset, front wheels 8.5" 22 offset. you can see if the difference the width makes on the same offset wheel.

you aren't going to have a huge lip, but there will be a noticeable difference between front and rear because of the width difference. the rears will have more of a concave look than the fronts which gives an obvious staggered wheel setup. the wider the wheel and the lower the offset number the more concave the wheel will look.

tires:

245/40/19 front275/35/19 or 285/35/19 rear

Yea sorry I was confusing myself with the whole lip thing on the rears. I found out this morning that those wheels aren't available in 10 inch but 10.5 inch. Looks like I'm going to have to get the 9.5 inch wheels for the rear and run matching offsets of 35mm front/rear because they don't offer 30mm offsets. I can use the factory tire size for that set up correct? Thanks for all your input.

*edit* going with the size I stated in this post, would the wheels have a similar stance on mine like they do on that 1Gen sedan?

yes some what similar, but i believe he was running a 255 in the rear and 225 up front. you can use the oem tire sizes as your current wheels are 8.5" front and 9" rear. you are only going .5" bigger in the rear. you could get away with a 10.5" with a 35 offset. if you get the 8.5/9.5 setup in 35mm and would like it a bit more flush, they always make spacers.

Ok so I think I've figured out the tire/wheel calculator. For the front 19x8.5 35mm offset I have a tire size of 225/40/19. For the rear, 19x9.5 35mm offset I have a tire size of 255/40/19. If that's right would I still need the 15mm spacers for the rear or for both front and rear?

i would run no spacers for the time being. those wheels will fit and after you fit them, i would see how much room you have to push them out any further. i would run a wider tire on the 8.5". but if that is what you have now and they are in good condition, use them until its time to buy something else. if you are buying tires for the new wheels, get the ones that fit best initially. 8.5" wheel I would run @ least a 245 series and 9.5" wheel a 265-275 series.

Ok I think I'm getting it more and more. I've never been good with wheel and tire sizes ever as I've said before. I found another Volk wheel that will allow for the proper offset and width that I want. The Volk VR-G10 wheel. I will stick with the 19x8.5 35mm in the front and for the rear they offer a 19x10.5 with a 35mm offset. So as you've suggested I will go with a 245/40/19 up front and for the rear if it allows I'll try to run 285/40/19 or a 285/35/19. How's that sound?

no problem, the 285/35 will probably be the best fit, it will stretch the tire just a bit.

Would the 295 series tire not be stretched?

not as much as the 285. also depends on the tire manufacturer. some fall out smaller/larger than others the same size.

Well let me ask you something else, I really don't plan on lowering the car and I'm not wanting the car to look silly by having funny looking gaps in the fender well. Do you think that will be a problem?

no, because the whole idea of the tire size calculator is to keep the new tire diameter very close to oem.
