Car: 2008 Infiniti G37s

Post

Greetings,

New to the forums. Have been a honda fanboy my whole life until yesterday when I purchase a 2008 Infiniti G37s. Big learning curve. Lot of gadgets on this car. One thing I have not been able to figure out in the voice command feature. I read in the owner's manual that you are supposed to be able to set the climate control's temperature via voice command, but every time I attempt, it says unknown command. Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, on the front dash there is a compact flash slot. I read in the owner's manual that you are supposed to be able to pull it out and put in compact flash cards. Is there a trick to this? I have pulled and yanked on this thing and I can not get the "tray" to pull out.

I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

Thanks,

R

Welcome to NICO!

First, I think you have to have it set to alternative commands...but I don't remember if you can change the temp.

Second, I think there is a small cover...but it should just pop out. I have a 2G flash card in mine (max size). Check out the FAQ for more info:

Hey there welcome to the dark side. :woot:
Time to move past old vtec to VVEL, congratulations.

Is there a protruding cover that says COMPACT FLASH in caps?
If there is indeed the cover installed take your first put your nail against finisher and gently pull forward. It really should not take much effort to free the cover.

The voice commands in the G37 are pretty basic. You are only able to activate the climate control.
Yes, there is a reason for it,
Yes, I too think that it sucks.

I have been dealing with the variants of this system for a while. The best advice I can give you is check out the updated manual especially for the voice command (link below) and spend some time going through the voice adaptation mode if you plan on using the system. It will give the car the time required to learn how you speak and you a chance to learn how the car wants to be spoken to.
