Really loving my brand new 2015 Rogue SL, but noticed strange behaviour when using the voice commands for navigating. I am in Vancouver, Canada and when I use the navigation manually, it all works just fine, but when I do the same thing with voice command, it will only ever find locations in the USA. That is the case with street addresses and points of interest. So for instance, if I search manually for Safeway, it finds one located very close, here in Vancouver, but if I do the exact same thing using voice command, the closest one is found in Washington State, which is not very close at all. Same thing with any street address. It seems as though there is a setting which is telling the voice command to only look in the US. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have asked the dealer to find out what's going on. Let me know if you find the same issue in Toronto. Try searching for a Starbucks in Toronto. Here, it sent me to Washington state, but only when I use voice command. If I do it manually, it finds the closest one, which in Vancouver, is always about 45 seconds away.

I am in Halifax and when I use the voice command (rarely as it pretty much crap) it doe not find local POI. I didn't try Starbucks, but I give it a try later.

Do you notice that you cannot find local addresses without saying the city and province? If I just say a local street address, it gives me someplace in the US.

Good question. Where do I find that information?

By the way, another stupid thing with the voice recognition when I use it to make a phone call. I say, "Call Larry Smith". It finds a match. I confirm. It then shows me the cell, home and work numbers for Larry Smith so I can choose which one to call, but none of them are the correct numbers for Larry Smith. So it has found the name correctly, but is finding totally different numbers for a different contact. Again, this makes the feature completely useless.

Try this way,
With the radio on, hold down the "Apps" button and turn the "tune" knob left and right a few times. This will get you to a service screen where you can check the software versions. I don't know the precise instructions but that's what works for me.

Let us know what you see. Thanks

That didn't work for me at all, I'm afraid. Anyway, what is that going to tell us? Are you having any of these issues with voice recognition?

Try With the radio on, hold down the "Apps" button and turn the "tune" knob left 90 °and back to the right past center to 90° right side a few times. This will get you to a service screen. There are different version out of the software. There and update to D207. I'm not sure if it fixed that problem.

Let us know what you come up with. Thanks

Take a look at this info,
This is version D207. This update came out around the end of October. Previously the newest version was D25.
(This is what I upgraded from, let me know what yours is at. Yours being a 2015)

1. improved stability , fewer reboots and blank screens.
2. reduced XM loading message
3. resolves intermittent audio issues
4. corrects sound levels not corresponding to settings for bass, treble etc.
5. adds the ability to reboot the unit by holding the power button on the audio unit.
6. Adds S/XM Smart Favorite: allows pause/rewind and replay features like on a DVD player.

The TSB is NTB 14-079 (i think this might be the same TSB number as last time, not sure.)

The USB music still has a lagging effect  on mine.

Let us know, Thanks

My dealer got back to me and he is still looking into a solution, but confirmed that the same thing happens on other Nissan's he tested. Not just Rogues, so this is a wider issue. I am going to follow up to make sure it gets addressed because it is a pretty major flaw in a system we are sold which is supposed to work. Otherwise, I love my new Rogue!

Hi again, Sorry you get it to work. Would like to know what version of software your running on your 2015. I tried on my and can up with the same issues your having. Which leads me to say the update I got didn't address or fix this problem.

Your right about staying on top of it with Nissan as we paid for a fictional system !

Please lets keep updated. Thank You ;)
