Hello, ok so I picked up a used vlsd for my s13 maybe 3 years ago came out of an r32 it has nismo gears in it supposedly... Anyway @ this point the thing is totally toasted, Im looking to upgrade for a used or new Helical and was wondering, will the s15's helical be a direct swap into my vlsd's pumpkin and if so will it require shimming or any other modification?

PS: Shooing for a Helical cuz well an aftermarket 2-way or any other brand name is way too much $$$

You ALWAYS should shim when you put a differential into any housing. But it is a bolt in swap. The only issue you will run into is the S15 uses larger bolts than the standard R200 for the ring gear. Nismo used to carry a bolt that had a larger shank, but had the same thread pitch to allow you to run an R200 ring gear on the S15 HLSD unit. I haven't seen those in a long time though.
