ok guys please no flaming, i did search, and learned a lot, but nothin seems to answer my specific question so i hope u guys can.here it goes:

according to what i found i do not need to change my hubs to swap in a vlsd, correct?? only j30 axles??

Depends on the year of j30. Just look for a low mileage j30 preferably with the 6 bolt (3 pairs of bolts close) just like the 240's. If you find one really low mileage with the 5 bolt axles you need j30 axles too.

Keep in mind your going from a 4.08 ratio to a 3.9xx so you will go a little faster then what your speedo says.

yeah i knew about the gear ratios and am planing on swaping out the ring gear, or pinion, or both whichever one is different, but the only vlsd's i have found are the 5 bolt "star" pattern, so if i take the axles along with the diff, then am set!! cool thanks again!!

am also planing on swapping out the guts if it is any easier, saves me money, also that holds another question i had, and was never answered, can i swap out the vlsd unit from a q45?? there is like 20 at the u-pull and gives me more to choose from.
