Who said it is preferred? Vlsd uses a vicsous fluid to provide the limited slip action. And I'm not sure what you mean by regular. There are clutch LSDs, helical LSDs, spools, detroit lockers, open diffs. Each has their positives and negatives. I'd say VLSD's are popular, but mainly because they are cheap.

Look here:http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....=VLSD

also, use the search function. You will find a ton of threads on the subject. I normally do like to answer questions and don't refer to search to much, but a book can be written on this subject. I'm sure we could if we gathered up all the info in this forum too.

See I don't know anything about LSD's so thats why I asked. I hear the vLSD in lots of threads so I figured cuz it was preferred. Thanks for the info. And I hate the search funtion. It always find 100 threads but nothing about what I'm looking for, so I just post a thread. Thats what these forums are for, right?

The search function is becoming harder to use because of all the threads on different subjects. Would be nice if they were catagorized by subject and the useless ones deleted. Just mo.

The howthingswork site is a good resource for some basic info about diffs. I understand about the search function. But just this last month, I've seen numerous posts on the subject. Try searching on google.com as well. It's easier to answer your questions more specifically once you have an understanding of diffs.
