Finally getting off my lazy *** and beginning my project after like 2 years and one problem has always been the stupid open-diff in my '92 Coupe. Instead of spending like $700+ for a lsd I'd rather try to swap the vlsd from my '91 Super-HICAS. Now the question arises, what all needs to be done. I'm guessing the driveshaft will need to be changed out. I shouldn't need to change up the axles should I?

ANyway, to answer the question..

The axles don't need to be swapped. The driveshaft frequently has to be swapped with an abs driveshaft because the non-abs are too short. However, I have heard cases in which the non-abs driveshaft had enough slack to to bolt on. To be on the safe side, you might want to have an abs driveshaft handy.

i got a 180sx 5 bolt lsd for 250 shipped but spent 250 on axles, if you have a good deal on axles thats the strongest and most logical way to go. any diff out of an se would do tho and bolt up s142 use a 2 bolt rear come s13s use a 4 bolt rear cover.

I put a ABS diff on my non abs and at first I didnt think it was going to fix but it does very little room though. Heres a helpful web site http://www.ka24development.com/vlsd.html
