vlsd squeeking

i just bought a vlsd from a private seller which never installed it in his car, he didnt know the history of the vlsd. the unit does not make a humming noise. it works great it just makes a wierd squeeking like a metal to metal. does anyone have the same problem or know what is wrong?

did you check for fluid level? it might be low
