Okay, so I have been doing some reading and I am just curious as to which diff. will bolt into my '90 s13 without changing the axles. I know that there is supposed to be an infiniti rear (I think it is a j30 perjhaps???) that will bolt in without changing the axles like is needed with a 300z swap. I have access to cheap junkyard parts so if I can find the correct rear that will bolt in I can save some $$$$. I dont have ABS if that matters. But I all that I need to know is what type AND what year diff. to look for that is a direct bolt in (save for the rear cover).

Cool, thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know. Now here is another question tho. Do all 240's have the same bolt pattern on the axle flanges? I know the axles are different inside the case for a vlsd but the bolt pattern stays the same right?

i always wondered why the lsd's have a 5 bolt design, and all the 240s have a twin 3 bolt type system (making 6 bolt), and everyone always says that it will work, but i dont see how that can happen, can anyone enlighten me?

I recently just pulled an lsd from a 94 j30 which had the 6 bolt pattern. which should bolt right up to my axles on my 91 fastback. if your 240 has the 5 bolt pattern then you also need the axles "control arms" from the j30 as well.

forgot. if you find an lsd with the 5 bolt then grab the axles as well.
