I'm getting a VLSD installed on Thursday. So, I ran out and got some RedLine VLSD oil. They have two different kinds of 75w90, one for LSD's and one for transmission's and open diffs.

SOMEwhere, I heard that VLSD's are supposed to have regular "non-lsd" lube. And that "LSD" oil is for gear lsd's.

So I bought:http://www.redlineoil.com/redl...W90NS

"75W90NS - recommended for manual transmissions and non-limited-slip transaxles that recommend 90 WT oils. Can be used in racing limited-slip units to increase lockup and reduce wheel spin. Street-driven rear-wheel drive cars should use regular Red Line 75W90 or 80W140. "

Any thoughts ? Have I bought the wrong thing ?Btw, it's too late to get anything but Mobil1 before Thursday.

it's fine. The Viscous coupling in a VLSD is sealed and so the only think you need to really worry about is lubing the ring and pinion gears. Using a LSD specific or a non LSD specific will not do anything to change the characteristics of the coupling itself.
