vlsd help

i bought a s13 rear end with VLSD and going to put it in my s14 but i got a 3set pattern of 2 bolts and the VLSD has a 5 star pattern. i was going to just switch my half shafts with the s13 half shafts so the bolt pattern would match up. has anyone done this before? and if you did, did you have to switch the pumpkin covers? hope you guys can help me out here because i gotta have it done by next week so i can run it at the track. thanks
