ok, last time i posted something about this i got shot down pretty quick. This coming up Sunday is half price on everything at the pickapart and there's a j30 in there waiting for me. I have a question and I HAVE BEEN READING. So ive seen here and there something about when you do a 5 bolt vlsd and axles swap from a j30 you end up with 5 lug in the rear? Is this true? can you leave your 4 lug spindles on the rear and still use the j30 axle's? or does that require modification to the axle or bearings?

you need to do the compleate swapp..as the other splines willnot line up from what i have read on the forums...i havent myself done that swapp so maybe another niccohead can conferm this.

I already answered this the last time you posted the same question.

you can use the 5 lug J30 diff in your car, but you will need the 5 bolt axles too. You will also need to swap diff covers and put your S13 cover on it. The J30 hubs are not the same, they press into the upright where ours bolt on. The axles work perfect, but you cant use the hubs in a bolt on fashion.

so what your saying is that the 240sx rear hubs hubs bolt in and the j30 rear hubs are pressed in. I already know that the axles work, what i need to know is if you put them in, will you not be able to put your 4 lug hubs back on?

because your description of the j30 hubs being pressed in and the 240sx being bolted in just doesn't make sense to me at all if you were to switch the axles.

from what I have read and gathered yes. Just get some Z32 NA or S14 Se hubs if you want 5 lug, but the 5 bolt J30 axles work with your current hubs and S14/15 4 and 5 lugs as well as Z32 NA

well do like i do since you are at the junk just tear off the j30 and a 240sx if you can find it then compare and try it if it fits if it dont toss easy if it does take too easy.

kinda dug this up didnt you, I already finished this i found a 6 bolt j30 rear end and it was ABS equiped. I had no isues whatsoever trying to make the drive shaft fit. Was like it belong there. and it hooks up great.

lol...i have j30 diff...5 bolt pattern output shalf and axle is much stronger then 6 ...but if u want to drift good with it..u need to shimmed ur diff

J30 diff + axles... ~$100-$300Having a limited slip rear end that's pretty much bullet proof... priceless.

Since when is a nissan VLSD bulletproof? Most of these high mile junk J30 diffs end up going open sooner then later with some abuse.
