So I could not help but notice this engine in a FX50 at work today. Looks like a clone of our VK56VD except it is smaller bore, shorter stroke, and uses conventional port fuel injection. I know it is based off the 5.6. I am thinking of looking into the cam specs used on it. The 4.5 M45 cams interchange with the old 5.6 Titan engine. Makes me wonder if we can use FX50 exhaust cams and get more power. The FX50 makes its peak power at a higher RPM and redlines higher than we do. Guess I need to dig into the service manuals at work and find the specs of both.

Utilizing Infiniti cams that are a bit more current on more power. Sounds good. :dblthumb:

The shorter stroke and reduced mass allows for the higher redline, not the cam profile.

Cam profile is slightly different but I doubt enough to see any real differences.
