I wonder what it looks like without all that plastic on the motor.

What aluminum beauty is hiding under all that plastic?

I have been starting to see the commercials for the FX50, and now I am curious if they bored or stroked the VK45DE to get 5 liters.

It's also interesting to note that they are using variable lift on the intake valves, hence the VE suffix in VK50VE. This is significant because it's the first USDM Nisan to have the Neo VVL system, while foreign markets have been enjoying the SR20VE and SR16VE for much longer.

Am I missing something on that site? Where does it say it's a Nissan engine?

It doesn't, nor is it a VK... it looks a lot more like a VH, expecially a late model VH withouth the cam inspection covers. Just look at the valve covers and spark plug cover and tell me that isn't a VH... it's DEFINITELY not a normal VK, because the VK is ugly with the coils showing (no coil covers since the whole engine bay has plastic covers).

Definitely looks like a VK56 to me, just has some custom valve covers. The front timing chain cover gives it away.

Yep thats what i thought about the chain covers. Someone can always email them and find out?? These are the same guys who did the twin turbo VH45 in that speed boat.

It sure is a VK56DE based mill.

I wonder what the cost is and width of the final motor.

You know what, the more I look at it, the less it looks like a VH. I will agrwe that the cam covers look a lot more like a VK.
