Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any pics of the VK45 valve train? I'd love to have a peak and see what the differences between the VK and VH are. I know the technical differences of titanium valves alluminium rockers and VVT (presumably on both cams). Just wanna see what it looks like.

I don't remember if I posted these head and valvetrain comparison pics.

Do you still have these heads laying around?

These are the best comparision pictures I've seen! Thanks for posting them.

I'm curious if the center to center distance on the exhaust studs are the same distance on the VK as the VH. As in...would a VH and VK header flange be interchangeable aside from the noticeable stud size difference?

The VK heads are at a shop who are making my pulleys using the motor as a jig.

There are pics of the VK45 and VK56 exhaust manifolds and gaskets. The VK56 has similar exhaust shape as the VH45 heads, oval ports.

Wow...Thank you! You have no idea how helpful that is. I found a ton of other pictures on there that I've been looking for without any luck for a long time.

I was trying to find some info a while back on the VK45 intakes and you've got some great pictures of the internals. I guess I'm confused now....Do I see both a large throttle body plus the smaller ITBs? I started looking at trying to retrofit one of these intakes (if they just had ITBs) since I'm having a huge amount of trouble finding room for a big throttle body.

Any chance you could explain how this intake works? How are the ITBs controlled (it looks like they're hooked up to a diaphragam?) Where does the TPS go?

THANK YOU! And awesome project. :)

Spent a little more time looking at the pictures and it makes a little more sense how the VK45 intake works. Two ports per intake, one is fully open and the other has the ITB. I still don't understand how the ITBs sync with the main throttle body. This may be a nightmare to try and adapt to a VH! :frown:

I think you are talking about the variable length intake manifold. Above a certain rpm and load, a solenoid opens allowing vacuum a diaphram that opens the butterflies in the manifold, reducing the distance of the runners from the plenum to the heads by about 5-6 inches.

Got it! Clever design....and probably not worth it for my application.

Depends if you are planning to use the stock manifold or making your own.
