Hey guys this is a swap that i have in the engine and someone told me to post it in here so here it is so far. This is a 2003 infiniti vk45de (v8 engine) thats usually in the fx45, q45 and m45 making 340 hp and 333lb ft of torque in stock mode. wikepedia for those who dont know of it

Quick run through; change the intake for an 06 intake style that the throttle body comes through the front
Image
customize it so i can make a 89-96 q45 throttle body fit on it
Image
Image
modify the oil pan to make engine sit lower in the engine bay

Got the adapter plate from my friend at swap-1uz.com.

For those who are interested ive found that the vh45de from the 89 to 96 q45 transmission bolt pattern is the same as the vk45de from the 2002 to 2005 model. After that nissan (infiniti) switch the starter to the other side in the 2006 and up , which changed the bolt pattern. somthing like what they did to the vh41de in the 97 to 2001 q45. Bolted up the z32 transmission
Image
made some custom mounts for the engine

custom fuel rail tube and 14mm injector bit just arrived this week waiting for fuel lines fittings to arrived to start.

Will follow up when the chance is there.

I'm planning on using the megasquirt 3 or the haltech 1000. Still not sure yet.

just some baby step updates with the fuel rail will finish up with them sometime next week. Image This is a 10an fuel rail, will also upgrade the fuel lines to and from the tank to 1/2 inch and also upgrade to a holley fuel pump later. Getting ready for boost later :chuckle: Image Image Image

Looking good - did you have to modify the alternator or power steering pump like the VH? Also what headers are you using?

Thanks!

Sorry for the late response, but for your car it would be too much fabrication( water neck inlet and outlet) especially your drive wire throttle body.

I know this is older, but relevant to me now, and not quite sure if it's worth starting a whole other thread. Any reason you wouldn't just remove the regular accelerator and bolt in the drive-by-wire pedal assembly from an m45 or q45? Seems like it'd be a lot easier to do that than try to custom fit bicycle cables into some kind of working throttle system, since that's the input it wants anyway.
