I have recently bought a VK45DD V8 out of a Cima with only 32k kilometres on it to fit into my 350z roadster. Now I know I need an adapter for the engine to mate up to my gearbox & collinsadapters.com do a VK45DE adapter but can't say if it would fit the DD as well as the DE. From what I've read I'm sure the blocks on the VK45DD, VK45DE & VK50DE are the same, it's just the sleeves inside, pistons, heads & intakes that's are different. So basically my question is does anyone know if the DD & DE share gearbox mounting holes? The same gearbox even? So that I can use the DE adapter with my DD engine?

97% sure they didn't make a new cast for that motor and it should have the same bolt pattern as the VK45DE. Wouldn't make finical sense to make a new block because that would be super expensive.

It won't work. I just ran across a guy on youtube that broke down the differences with the VK45 motors. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPhOXF ... ND-EZjkJaA the starter will have to be on the driver side to use the adapter plate from Collins. I'm really bummed about that since most of the cheap JDM VK45's have the starter on the driver side of the car (USA). A new plate will have to be made.
