Man im reading that thread, and what a bunch of arse munchers on that forum. Theyre flaming that guy for the wrong kind of exhaust bends? COME ON NOW, what a bunch of dillholes.

I like what this guy is doing, but thats waht you get for posting the details of a project. If he just came on, said he had this car and posted a burnout video, then he wouldnt have had a bunch of retards flaming him for stupid crap.

By the way, another member is posting pictures of his VH45TT build.Has gotten all custom peices made. Low compression pistons a la Venolia Pistons and Rods although custom. So there is a supplier that can make you a set.

EDIT:

Techni seriously needs to be linked to us here. I'm fascinated by both of these guys.

I agree. I signed up there, I'll probably link them to VH45DE.com

I noticed they said that there were 2 TT VH45s in 300ZX on the other forum. I dont know if the other forum referrs to NICO and what the 2nd VH45DETT is?

I just cant wait to see how the motor holds up to the alleged 1200HP. Id be surprised if it sees 1200HP long enough to tune it.

Heh he should definitely sign up here... a lot less retarded fanbois here. At least the members here have a clue and post helpful comments!

I wonder why the choice of VK though, it'd be interesting to compare head design to see whether the VK has any improvement at all. At this point I'm still convinced the VH is the better engine of the two.

Well think about it, the VH exists to homologate Nissan's V8 race engines... what does the VK homologate? Also I'm with Wes on this particular issue, the VK is uuUUUuuUuGLY!!!

I agree. the VK uses solid bucket lifters like the VQ, so theyre not maintenance free like the VH's are. And we know the VH's HLA's are solid, so theyre not a weak link like they may be in a SR.

I dont know if the heads flow the same, i bet they flow similar. The valves on the VK are similar, but slightly smaller (36I 31E VK vs 38I 33E VH). The only thing would be to compare the intake port size. I bet though the VK intake manifold doesnt flow nearly as much as the VH's.

The VK homogolates the VQ in V8 form. hey if we can design an engine as cheaply as possible, over rate the HP, and make it run on the ragged edge, consuming oil from the factory in a VQ, im sure as hell we can do it with a V8.

VH45 FOR LIFE.

Included valve angle is a little narrower on the VK, but the valves are larger on the VH.

Note that Porsche uses a closed deck design for their turbocharged V8. The VK is certainly doable.

Has there actually been a respected person in engine building compare a VK to a VH? Id be interested to see what a professional thinks.

Send me an email and I will host all the pictures you want.

Attach all the pictures you want, ideally in a zip file. If you dont know how to zip, thats fine dont worry about it.

I'll hook you up with an ECU too. I dont recall getting an email about a boost ECU from you?

Hey guys,

I guess I should have known there was way more support for my VH swap on here. Like Konatown said, I'm building a VH45de from a 91 Q45, twin turbocharging and going with a 6MT tranny.

Everything but the choice of tranny ha been figured out so far. Apparently there's no easy way to mate an MT tranny to this motor but its nothing an adapter can't fix.

Its taking me a long time since I didn't want to use any old parts from the donor vehicle IE sensors, gaskets, and accessories so I went out and bought everything new to have a healthy new motor to beat on.

The idea here is to offer G and Z owners a unique choice for a motor swap that will not only impress but also retain the luxuries of AC and Power steering.

So far I have a ton of random part pics but I'll start a new thread to document the build as soon as the rods come in and we begin the assembly process.

Welcome to NICO

Nice build. If you want to document the piss out of it, I will add it as a "Members Projects" on the homepage to get more of the Infiniti community aware of the build process.

If possible, limiting the images to 800 width (where possible) makes reading the thread MUCH easier. If you need help with resizing I can do it for ya.

sure , you're more than welcome to add the link.

I use tinypic because they don't expire. Can anyone suggest a site that doesn't blow them up as big?

NICO has iServe which is integrated, but it does cost. Photobucket is used by some but they may expire. Maybe Shutterfly?

Worse case is I go through every once in a while and resize the pix and rehost them on our server
