VK45 and VK56 exhaust manifold comparison

I posted this on Fresh Alloy forum as a member asked if I knew the difference between the VK45 and the VK56 exhaust manifolds. I had wondered the same and so I bought a set to find out. Original post was about running nitrous.

interesting...so its not just a bore and stroke on the vk45 but the heads are different as well...

The VK56 manifolds look like the VH45 manifolds.

Not surprising as the VK56DE is essentially a stroked VK45DE.

Somewhat, the block is different as the deck height is taller. Seems more like they used VH45 heads on the VK56 block.

Pretty much. The only thing changed is the removal of the cats and the extra length with flanges.
