i just got my n1 oil pump yesterday and i wanted to know the visual difference from the oem oil pump to the n1.

I just want to make sure I got the right one.

I also wanted to know if the crank snout has 2 flat edges on them? from the pics ive seen of good and bad cranks, they only "seemed" to have one flat side and the rest is round. although the pics can really only show one side. however after looking at my oil pump it had 2 flat surfaces where crank goes through normal?

thanks for help guys

My N1 is on its way...but...from everything I have read, they are the same pump as stock with a stiffer spring which makes it higher pressure, so as far as visual differences..there probably aren't any.

Yes...the crank collar and oil pump have 2 flat surfaces

ya i knew about them being pretty similar.

ive read a lot of people saying the only difference is the spring rate, but i also heard somewhere that there was more differences then just the spring.

i once saw a pic a picture both pumps side by side where the gears look different but i dont really want to open it since i dont know of what precautions if any to take when disconnecting. plus i dont have my oem pump out yet so wont help much anyway.

thanks for clearing up the flat surface ?

anybody else know of some visual diff or a easy way to check?

in what way? was it the pic of the gear itself? the pic was from the inside of the oil pump right? i saw that pic before too...

ill try and look up again but i was wondering if there was another way. i dont wanna mess up the pump.

i believe it was like 5 little bolts in the "inside" side that i think will expose the gear. however can those be taken off without changing anything or messing something up? i just dont want to mess it up

Do a search on my posts. I posted pics a month or so back.

Correct GTR Shop!

I would also take a few pics comparing them if anyone wanted. I almost put my oil pump on today, but alas, time did not allow for such things.
