Does anyone know how to remove the garish, obnoxious warning labels from the visor of a new car? I think they used to be removable, but the ones in my new FX45 appear to be welded permanently to the felt. I'm afraid that if I try to remove them I will tear or ruin the visor. The dealer said he doesn't have any way to remove them.

Probably your best bet is to have them re-covered by an upholstry shop. Doubt it would be that expensive, but finding the correct fabric could be a challenge.

May as well try working 3M adhesive remover in from the edges if you're going to get them recovered anyway.

Looks like I'll be headed for the upholstry shop -- at least to get a quote and confirm it can be done before I try the adhesive remover. I have a suspicion the adhesive remover won't work because it's heat-welded rather than glued.

We'll see...

Thanks all.

I bet on resale, there is a certain exposure to liability. Maybe even with a passenger in a wreck. It is a notice.

I'm sure that's why the manufacturers are making it so difficult to remove the stickers. Litigants always go after the car manufacturer, so they want to make sure the warning survives a change in ownership.Still, it's so incredibly ugly and obtrusive I want to get rid of it...

I wondered about that too - I'm just not brave enough to make my 2-week old FX45 the guinea pig. Was hoping someone else had done it already. Who knows, maybe it's as simple as using a blow dryer. But I doubt it - temperatures inside a closed car in summer sun can get perilously close to that temperature without a blow dryer, so they'd have to do something different. Probably an adhesive or some kind of sonic welding or something.
