Ok now Im a little pissed off. I know that some viruses spread to someones e-mail and mass resend them through someones address book and I hope this is the case.

I got an e-mail from [email protected]the Subject was THANKS!

It had an attachment and thinking heavythrottle well might as well save it, I saved it and scanned it for a virus and sure enough it was.

(edited for length) :)

KR - Actually, it's not necessarily their fault. Many viruses can appear to come from a certain email addy but they're not (not sure what this is called, help me out geeks!).

I've gotten emails from some pretty reliable sources with viruses attached.

The best bet is NEVER open an email you're not expecting (or that have suspicious subject lines).

Well you could always try to get back at them by throwing a snickers bar into the pool whenever one of them goes into a swimming pool. lol

It's called sender spoofing. Or the geekier of us, like me, call ir header spoofing.

well I know its not their fault, they are a reputable company that I am very sure they dont want to comprimise by sending out a virus. I think an e-bay buyer got pissed and decided to go at it. but its all in Hotmail and I have good software so that virus didnt even have a chance to breath. Thanks all but it started about 3 days ago and now its constant e-mails with the virus.

I get emails all the time saying that I sent people viruses and their software caught it. I know I'm not sending them out, especially since they are to people that I know of, but have never emailed before. It happens alot with JARCO... weird.

I have changed the title so that Heavy throttle wont be thought of as a "virus sender"

Good work.

I HIGHLY recommend everyone run SpyBot Advanced and Adaware on their PC to clean it up, and keep Norton and/or McAfee updated and running as well.

Not perfect, but would certainly cut down on the viral transmissions...

I have been wondering about spybot, I have had it for a long time and the last 3 months there has been no update. So I have been using ad aware and I continuously (SP) wipe my computer of saved setting.
