well, because its not a virius, its an exploit, effecting something like 80% of windows pcs.

RPC = Remote Procedure Call

If you are getting this error, definatly get the patch.

it's not a virus, it's a worm.

from Symantec:"What is the difference between a computer virus and a computer worm?

Viruses are computer programs that are designed to spread themselves from one file to another on a single computer. A virus might rapidly infect every application file on an individual computer, or slowly infect the documents on that computer, but it does not intentionally try to spread itself from that computer to other computers. In most cases, that's where humans come in. We send e-mail document attachments, trade programs on diskettes, or copy files to file servers. When the next unsuspecting user receives the infected file or disk, they spread the virus to their computer, and so on.

Worms, on the other hand, are insidious because they rely less (or not at all) upon human behavior in order to spread themselves from one computer to others. The computer worm is a program that is designed to copy itself from one computer to another over a network (e.g. by using e-mail). The worm spreads itself to many computers over a network, and doesn't wait for a human being to help. This means that computer worms spread much more rapidly than computer viruses. "

ok guys, me and my friends got our own temp fix for now until a safe patch is done ok for you XP users....

goto Start>Run type in services.msc next scroll though the list and look for Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

right click it and goto Properties

click Recovery

now rest all the drop boxes to Restart the Service

Now, when it errors, instead of restarting your pc, it will just restart the RPC. This is all me and my friends got so far, along with the worm exe being called MSBLAST.EXE located in the C:\windows\system32 folder. best of luck and help us all out.

THIS IS NOT A PERMI FIX, THIS WILL NOT REMOVE THE PROBLEM! THIS IS ONLY A TEMP SOLUTION UNTIL A DECENT PATCH IS RELEASED.

first download and install the latest service pack for your OS that has 128bit encryption

then download the security patch

P.S. you can also try using a different browser, Mozilla works great http://www.mozilla.org

this is said to be the biggest exploit to hit microsoft.... its a mocking program. hidden inside the code has messages. such as "hey Billy Gates, stop making money off your software and start fixing it" and it makes regi strings called billy it also on 16th and 30th of each month sends DoS attacks to windowsupdate.microsoft.com heheh stupid fuxor who coded it. smart, but stupid.

it is kinda rediculous how much it cost for a OS. i mean considering every computer has one that means alot r being sold which means they r making alot of money.

this is the way my friend taught me how to delete the msblast.exe file.

it's been a few days since i did it so i'm gonna try my best descibe it to ya.

(1) press ctrl+alt+delete once, (2) there's a menu you can go into and it list down all the running program and status and kb?transftering in and out of the program?(3) Find msblast.exe and end that program or terminate it. (4) Then find where msblast.exe is located at in your computer and just simply delete it. (5) Clean out u'r recycle bin.

Right now I am in HONG KONG on vacation (who need JDM parts?!hehe). I'm on my cousin's computer so everything is in chinese! that's the best way i can describe it to ya guys on how to delete the msblast..well bye!!!:D
