Found this while browsing for oil return bungs, haha.

Are our cars even loud enough to benefit from this? I know that mine right now is a little too loud for the neighbors late at night, haha... it's n/a though, so that explains much of it.

Wouldn't there be some torque loss from that device? I mean, my bf's Z32 TT is running on downpipes and it doesn't do too well under no-boost (chokes off when decelerating). And who complains about a 3" exhaust being too loud on their turbo car? Last time I checked it's much quieter than an n/a with a 2.5-3.0" exhaust. Sheesh, if you can't handle the noise get a nice resonator or don't do anything to your car at all.

It kinda seems contradictory. Like sky said, anyone who could appreciate the product would probably accept loudness in exchange for more power.

Not worth $235 IMO...

Well, it's only suppose to open up under boost.

hehehe, I love the sound of my car. I'm sure it will be hella quiet (except once the bov goes off) when I put the turbo in. It's not I who doesn't appreciate my noise, it's the neighbors... damn neighbors.

But yes, it was just an interesting little toy, and I love toys dammit

yeah it should be cheater just to get a electronic(preferably manual cause electronic can fai any time) cut-out from jegs or summitracing, you can open it/close it whenever you want......not everytime boost comes on.

Oh when i said "you" in my previous post, I wasn't referring to you specifically. I was referring to the website. I'm sure you understand that a turbo will definitely quiet stuff down a bit.

Why not just get a 3" exhaust? I have one (full turbo back)...isn't that loud.

I dunno, its kinda cool cause it would alow you to run a stock exhaust system, (very sleeper), withougt anyone knowing you actually have some mods. I guess that would be the only real use.

that article talks about not drawing attention from law enforcement, but if you ever get pulled over with that thing on your car you could get a serious ticket. (if the officer knows how the hell it works)

I really think it's a bad idea,

I think this is more reasonable, something you can control

Anyone notice the demo is on a GTI?Even WITH a 3 inch catback, 1.8Ts are quite quiet...On top of that... when the turbo spools up, it's gonna be WAY louder than just a 3 incher, since it's not hitting a muffler. Hummin' down the highway wouldn't be a very enjoyable cruise...

It's just not very elegant...

it's kind of a cool contraption...but not something i'd spend money on. there's way better (cheaper + user contollable) alternatives like everybody mentioned.i'm running a 3" exhaust with not cat and no muffler, it sounds fine. it's not super loud untill i go WOT. i'd still like to get a universal muffler though...
