So 4 hrs and $175 later, My Kaaz 2 way is installed...

all I can say is "WOW"was a mediocre process, labor intensive... not that bad really if you have the right tools to do it, worst jobs... pressing out the old bearings from the open diff/ removing the diff from the pumpkin... (chevy guy had to figure the nissan diff out first [note: pop out the axle mounts])

all is said and done... the diff isnt NEAR as loud as everyone said it would be, but maybe its just me... I have a loud exaust, I can hear the slight noise like a light hissing harshness in turn, and occasionally it clunks a bit if you take a corner hot.

but strait driving its silent. and OMG does she grip... >: )30 min of figure 8's got me a bit dizzy, but the fluid we drained only had a lil metallic tint to it, most of it was on the drain plugs magnet.first test, sharp turns, griped it like a champ... high speed test... no noisefigure 8's with a lil throttle control, EASY to flick the rear.

out in an empy parking lot... ebrake: fails (needs adjusted) throttle: SUCESS!: spins the rear right around

ok, stop... rev... burnout... LOVE the image of TWO black strips behind my car

normal driving... not bad, dont see why people complain about streeting a 2way... i guess maybe the rain might have a big effect, but salty roads didnt seem to phase it much... could feel the end wanting to chrip out a bit tho

Overall: COMPLEATLY SATISFIED! props to Kaaz for another satified customer!

Cool. I'm looking at either a Kazz or Tomei 2 way. I want to 2 way so I can get rid of my pos vlsd.

Wait, so you bought a Kaaz 2-way LSD for $175?

Where do I get in line for that deal? Last I checked they were about $900.

Go spray a parking lot down with a hose pipe and let us know how it is on wet surfaces.... Im debating 1.5 vs 2 way at the moment.

As I'm sure you all know we sell the new KAAZ Solid LSDs. The older models did not come with the bearings in place. The new ones however,...... drop in and go!! Can't beat that! I was very pleased when we got these suckers in. It makes the install sooooo much easier.

So ya as you wished, it snowed slightly here tonight... just enough for perfect snow drifting.... me and my buddy in his S13 went over to a huge lot and kinda spun around for 10 min. great time... couldnt beleave how much easier it is to controll the car mid-slide with the diff... granted theirs a cm of snow on the ground. it still responded well. and for street use, the wet highway wasnt bad, but didnt exceepd 60 mph... the roads off the highway got a lil squirly pulling left from an uphill stop sign, but wasnt too bad.i love it... I cant WAIT for drift practice at BeaveRun this sunday on their 3 ache skid pad... time to hone my "skillz"

Youd be surprised how many tires locally owned shops would give you... they know you have to pay somebody to mount, and do your alignments... you = tire/suspension shop owners best friend

maybe if mike wasnt to lazy to swap wheels back and forth, i doubt he'd find many "discounted" used 18" tires. but thats a good idea, just get a couple cheap 15"s and buy **** tires. and i can mount and balance them for free so they probably wont like him

Yeah, i got a 2 way LSD on my S13 and it's beautiful. it's got a lot better control than i expected and launching my car from stop just makes me grin. it's so my better when you've got both rear wheels spinning. i get a little bit of slippage but it's so much fun. congrats on the new LSD.

Isn't there a break-in period when after you install an LSD? I think I will just get a 2 way instead of a vlsd when the time comes...or when I get my car back AHHHHHHH!

hmm. makes me wonder if u broke it in correctly, i know on ur post u did figure eights, but theres a certain way to do them. my install how-to is on http://www.driftfactory.com and i also put the proper break in procedure straight from the kaaz manual, u might want to check it out to ensure u did do it the right way.
