hey is anyone out there making really big power. 400, 450 or more. i got into a heated argument with a couple of guys about 4 cylinders vs a 302, and a and a v-10. i told them that ill smack them one day but the 5.0 almost runs 10s, and the vipers not far off. i dont really care because i dont do straight lines. i just want to shut them up, what would it take? they both told me they thought drifting was not something you do on purpose. "its just power slidin". that when i left.

Ivan put down about 400 hp to ground on stock internals. There's a thread about it somewhere around here, but I couldn't find it. Dyno sheets and videos below. His car ran high 12's, I believe.

you can with weight reduction and probably 500hp on internals.(or less hp)

Actually, I read a bit further. The 405hp #'s were @ 16psi while the 12.7 was run at 14psi. At any rate, the trap speed was a whopping 117mph!

So, maybe traction problems or errr...driver error?

Mike Lee put down 535whp on a built KA. He can hold his own against the supra elite here in AZ.

the talk about ivans car is dumb. guys with 700hp supras can run 12's. its abotu traction, which was mentioned.

like said above dont be the guy "oh well when i get this, or oh cuz you have that" excuse are stupid. currently there are quite a few high hp 240's that CAN run 10's.

i believe he's talking about t66240 on freshalloy. t66 turbo at about 29psi, jwt 96# program. i actually think he did 545rwhp with mid 400 ft/lbs

Show me where Aries car has ever run a 10...

Your not going to make the 240 a drag machine without working on the suspension. She'll get up and go, but your so far behind off the line because your so seriously traction limited at any decent amount of power. A good LSD, soft drag suspenion in the back, large soft drag radials as well as quite a few other drag race type mods will help lower the usual 2+ 60 ft time. Balance your engine and redo the head so you can extend the rpm to 7500. And lose some weight, rip out the sound proofing...etc.

Basically your car will never run down a fast Rustang or Viper. The 5.0 Mustang is made to go straight...they suck in the twisties. A set of big drag radials and some boost and your going to be have a quick 5.0. Especially the late 80's LX Trunk. The Viper has enough low end grunt to where he can rip your house off the foundation. If he gets traction, your screwed simply because the "Q" range is huge and all of it is useable.

So with the Drift suspension...your not going to net anything under a 12 most likely.

Its hard to hide from Helo doing low level over the treetops/sand dunes, just pick up your heat signature and cut you down with a Minigun that has a cyclic rate of 6000 rnds a minute. After which your blood and internal organs leave a huge laid out heat signature almost 4 times the size of the original.

yeah im not that guy, that guy is my friend. hes always talkin about gettin this or that. different car different set up every day, and its is annoying. i dont talk i just get it when i get , then i talk. the guy in the viper cant drive at all. he told me 1st is usless to him and he often starts in 2nd just for traction, and the 5.0 guy is terrified of the power. so i figure with good power, some traction, and luck maybe the sun will shine on this doggs *** one day. but untill then ill just stay sideways.

Coincidentally, I just read that Ivan's car is now in to the 11's. I'm not sure what Aries was running (with a big shot of nitrous) but I'm pretty sure it was in the 11's too.
