Viper auto start problems

I have a 5sp 97 240sxi had a viper alarm system with auto start installed last springbut its already breaking downwhen i initiate the auto start the car engine turns over a couple times but then stops and doesnt start... wait longer and it'll try again by itself... until i make it stop....

is there a problem with the ignition not disengaging the flywheel?before it wouldnt start at all it would make whining noises and then scratching noises after it started (back then it would start successfully)

does Ne one else have an auto start on MT?

I thought it was illegal to install an autostart on a MT?

In VA its not will not pass inspection if the inspector finds it. A shop can install an autostart on a manual if they have the owner sign a wavier stating that it will not pass inspection and that they understand the dangers that follow such an install.

As for your problem, is there any problem with starting the car from the key ignition?

if you hit the start button and the clutch is engaged it could hit another car...i think that's why...correct me if i'm wrong

technically for the same reason, turbo timers are illegal too, u cant be a certain distance from ur running car,

this is the problem. most times i think they disable the neutral safety switch in order for these car starters to work.

meaning you can start the car without the clutch engaged, meaning that if the car is parked in gear and you hit the remote start...your car will start bucking as it tries to start while in gear...making it buck forward over and over again as the starter is turning over.

yes i've heard the stories about it.

on most s13s I've worked on the car will start without the clutch depressed.Mine does and if I leave it in gear it will lurch.

7he Don: Is your viper a 550hf? If it is I have the trouble shoot and install manuals for it. I might be able to diagnos the problem for you better.
