Hi, The remote start works fine if the engine's still warm, but if I leave it overnight, then try to remote start it in the morning, it will keep cranking, but the engine doesn't start. Sometimes it sounds like the engine is about to start then it keeps cranking.

However, if I start the car manually on another cold morning, it only takes about a crank or two and it starts right up.

I tried playing w/ the crank times settings, but that hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

or even for a few hours, then it will take a while to crank, like a few seconds, before the car starts.

Just curious did you connect the cold start wire & the regular start wire? One is black/white, the other I think should be black/green. You'll have to check with a voltmeter, or a test light.

To do this:

Make sure the vehicle isn't in gear. Find the wires & attach the probe or touch the contacts on the ignition turn the key to start, both wires supply 12V to the starter relay circuits only the cold start relay only is needed when the engine is not warmed up. The wires that only have 12volts in the key crank position need to be energized, You'll probably need a second starter relay to activate the second starter. Use the purple wire in the 4 pin wiring harness coming out of the high current relay pack to connect to the #85 terminal, #86 & #87 should have constant 12volts power. #30 is the output to your cold crank wire.

Silvia2b is right it's your cold start wire. my car does the same thing i've been lookin around for a sold source on what the second cold start wire is. the12volt says it is the black/yellow but thats the first one. i tryed the black/green but didn't help. so if you find the wire let me know too.

Finally got it to work, thanks Silvia2b!

cosmicfox:silvia2b is completely right.

It is the black/yellow. What may be confusing you, like it did me, is there are 2 black/yellow wires depending on what side of the harness you are looking at.

Another thing: they have to ALL be connected correctly for this to work.

Ok, here we go, there are only 5 wires, so it's process of elimination:

On key side of harness:White/Red - Constant 12vBlack/Yellow - StarterBlack/White - Ignition 1Blue - AccessoryBlack/green - Cold Start ->This is the wire that is Black/Yellow on the other side of harness.

Here is how I connected from the relay to this harness (1st color is relay):2 Red Wires -> White/RedPurple Wire -> Black/Yellow harness sideGreen Wire -> Black/Yellow key sideOrange Wire -> BluePink Wire -> Black/WhitePink/White -> Black/Green

Now, here is what I have set on the alarm settings:Menu 3:Default everything except:Pink/White to 2nd Ignition (defeault is accessory)Anti-grind off (just wanted to disable this to test, haven't put it back on yet)

My cold starts works great now. I have other problems now, but I think that has something to do w/ my relay or something else I did to the car.

But it was working great the 1st couple days, haha.
