Alright guys maybe you can help me out. I purchased a Viper 791xv after I had my car broken into. I'm gonna do the install myself, I've done stereo installs, and I've made my own Standalone ECU (Megasquirt) and wiring harness for my car so I know I'm up to the challenge of installing this.

I have a 1990 240sx SE Hatch, so I have power everything. Now will I be able to hook up keyless entry for my car or do I need to purchase actuators? I figured since my car unlocks the passenger door automatically when I open the driver side as well as locking that I could rig it up. Same with my Passenger side it opens the driver side but when I lock passenger driver side is still open. If I can wire up this keyless entry which wires do I splice into.

I dont have all the other sensors I want to install such as tilt, proximity, glass breakage, back up battery, and back up siren. Any of you guys got diagrams as to how to wire up these sensors, I'm sure when I get the sensors it'll show what to do but I want to do all my research so that their isnt any surprises.

Also I'm looking into a Viper GPS tracking system any certain things I have to do with that or is it straight forward?

1 more quick question, I noticed my package came with this weird black box thing with wires coming out, it was wrapped and came with a bunch of resistors. Anyone know whats this for? I believe is the 451m Door Lock relay.

Since I have a hatch their isnt a light like their is for the coupe, what other wire can I use for the trunk?

Ok, let's take it from the top. You should have not problem wiring the keyless entry. It is (according to my info) a negative pulse type. All you need to do is pulse it with a ground. Your alarm should have a low amp ground output without using relays or anything. It may even have internal door lock relays in which case you wire the common leads to ground and the output leads to the lock and unlock wires in your car.

Without looking up the diagram for your alarm I can tell you it has at least one sensor plug on it which is probably for an included impact sensor. You can buy splitters that will plug into that and will accept 3 or 4 sensor inputs. You can also hard wire them directly to 12 VDC and the outputs will connect to the instant trigger ground input (usually blue on most alarms).

The GPS systems can be very simple or very complex, it depends on how many options you want to hook up. It really only needs power, ground, ignition, and the antenna to track your car. If you want to operate door locks or trigger it upon a break in then you add more options.

The 451M allows you to connect to many different door lock types. With the type you have you shouldn't need it.

Is there an indicator on the dash telling you that the rear hatch is open? If so there will be a wire coming from the back to the instrument panel. Most likely it's a ground when the door is open, this would wire to the blue negative trigger wire as well. If you wire a bunch of sensors and the trunk and/or hood to the blue wire you will need to isolate each one with a diode so they don't feedback to each other.

I wouldn't recommend the proximity unless you had a convertible. They are a pain to adjust and go off all the time.

Here is a link to some wiring info http://bulldogsecurity.com/New...0.htm

and heres another.

Dayum boy you rock. Much love I aprreciate it. Unfortunarly their isnt anything that indicates the hatch is open. All their is just the door indicator. I guess I'll to add a like a hood switch that they included.

Well, the blue page I posted above says there should be a red wire at the trunk light or switch. Is there a light that turns on in the rear hatch area when you pop the hatch? If so just pull it and there ya go!

well yesterday as I was working on my intercooler I decided to start planning for my alarm install, note some keep points to install everything. So I checked the rear looking for the red wire. At first all it seemed like the only wires that are in the rear were for the tail lights, plate lights, rear speakers and some other things. Than I noticed a plug on the rear section of the locking mechanism and checked the wire and fortunatly it was red, so im almost 100% sure thats it. Its quite difficult to get to it and see it as its covered by a lot of metal.

Thank you very much GSIguy saved me a lot of trouble. Unfortunatly theirs still isnt anything that distinguishes if the hatch is open like lights or cluster.

LOL after looking at the FSM I realized that Hatchbacks do have trunk lamps, I totally forgot they do because I gutted my car. The light one on the trim piece that I removed.

So your right the coupe and hatch have lights.
