Hi All,Wondering if anyone knows how to program a 350HV Viper alarm transmitter, or the alarm to accept a new transmitter. I bought a 2003 Mazda Miata with one installed. The guy also had 2 transmitters...one works, the other doesn't. They both have the same RPN on the back, and visually appear identical. The nonop one has a new battery, and the little light flashes when I push the buttons, but the alarm unit in the car does not respond at all. I think the previous owner bought the new transmitter later, separately from the alarm. Any help appreciated!

Thanks,Kingotopanga

1. Get in and hit lock on drivers door.2. Insert key into and out of (fully) the ignition until the hazards blink.3. Turn key to ACC.4. Hit button on remote you want programmed.

Maybe its the same as programming Nissans. (Hopefully)

Thanks, Tom. I'll try that, but I need to ask one more question...There are 4 buttons on the remote: Lock, Unlock, Aux (which is used to open the trunk on the working remote), and panic, which sets off the alarm immediately. How do I get all 4 functions programmed correctly, i.e. those security system functions in the brain of the system matched to the four corresponding buttons?

You have to turn the car to run and hit the valet button a few times and then hold it and hit a button. I forget the exact amount of times to hit it but I can look that up when I get home.

I just forward you a scanned version that that I got from someone else on another forum when I was in search for the manual. I'd send you the official PDF one, but it is on my PC 2,500 miles away. Don't know if it's gonna help you though. I think you need some special gadget to be able to reprogram those remotes. Hopefully Toby will chime in and give you some advice.

Try this out. If you have a 4-Button Viper Remote (Blue, has an orange Panic Button), with AUX Trunk Release and Car Starter, this will work.

DEI REMOTE PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In order to enter Learn Routine, the Valet/Program push button must be pluggedinto the main brain's Blue 2 Pin Port (Look for a small black push button located underthe drivers dash or drivers kick panel somewhere). If you do not have the Valet/Programswitch, you may order it Here

1) Open a door and make sure the dome light is on. 2) Turn the ignition on to the RUN position or you may also start car.

3) Within 15 seconds press and release the Valet/Program push button 9 times. Then press and hold the Valet/Program push button once more. You should get a confirmation chirp/horn-honk or a flashing LED light (If installed). If you do not get a chirp/horn-honk the alarm may have a jumper in the alarm that has the programming feature turned OFF (disabled).

***If this doesn't work, you can play with the amount of times you press and release the Valet button.(For example, press and release once for channel 1 (arm/disarm channel). For Channel 2, press and release twice (trunk release). For Channel 3, press and release three times (remote start). (Some DEI systems require different programming for different channels.)

4) Once the alarm chirps/horn-honks keep holding the Valet/Program push button.

5) Press the button on the transmitter that you would like to control the selected receiver channel. A chirp/horn-honk will confirm that the code has been learned. If programming more than one transmitter repeat step 5. Old transmitter codes will be dropped only if programming 4 new transmitters. 6) Once the code(s) are learned, the Valet/Program push button can be released.

Learn Routine will be Exited if:

Ignition is turned offDoor is closedValet/Program push button is pressed too many timesMore than 15 seconds elapses between stepsOne long chirp/horn-honk indicates that Learn Routine has been exited.
