Hey guys, I want to remove some vinyl graphics off my car before it starts creating that "tan line" - hopefully it hasn't yet. Been on the car for maybe 2-3 months.

Anyway, I was thinking of following these steps:

and buying their plastic squegee & adhesive remover unless someone has a better idea (cheaper idea ).

THANKS!

I used "the old hair dryer trick" quite successfuly.Just be careful of areas that may have been repainted, especially the plastic bumpers.

I have worked at Signs Now for a few years now, the best way is to follow the link you posted. As for supplies, the mega grocery stores tend to sell the lil' Chizlers (squegee) at the check out lines. As for an adhesive remover look for some citrisolve, googone or similar product. Use a heat gun/hairdryer to warm the vinyl. If you still have problems check out 3M's woodgrain and stripe remover available at most A.P. stores, expensive but effective. Don't forget to wash and wax after you have finished removal.

My cousins dad owns a decal shop here in Manitoba - and as far as damaging the paint - it's pretty hard to. With the lack of tools one night - we used a simple propane flame torch and a small pin pick and peel. Used industrial compounds to remove any stickiness. Basically what scorsone said - but i like to share stories.
