vin numbertag on the dash

do i need to change the vin # tag/sticker? on the dash if i replace the dash with a used set?i tried to search on how to change that thing, but didn't find any info on it.anybody know what tools to use and how to do it?this guys tried to rip me off too, i sent the payment on the 5th and he just sent the item out last night. paid $630 for dash + air bags shipped to my old work place. i think i paid too much for the set.

To be completely legal, you should change the vin out on the dash. From the looks of it you can use a screwdriver and pry the sucker up. As for attaching it on the new dash, you can probably use some 3M adhesive for body panels. I would call up the local or state police department and run your idea by them and see what they say. Changing out the vin with yours is just a good idea in case something bad every happens to your car, its the first place to look for a positive ID.

It's on with rivets, you drill out the old ones, and install the new one with 2 new rivets. This is a 2 sided thing, you're not suppossed to tamper with the Vin tag, but you're suppossed to have the right vin. I switched mine, if the occasion ever arises that someone asks, just explain.
