Are the vin numbers on the motor of the CA. I would like to find out how many miles were on my engine. Like if I could find it I would call up Venus and ask them to run it.

Well I know there aren't VIN numbers but are there like engine codes on the bottom of the engine near the where the trany and Engine bolt up. I was just wondering if they were there before I get out in the snow. Anybody know?

someone asked this in the SR forum... I don't remember exactly what they said, but basically its not an easy task... Only Nissan of Japan would know which engine went to which car, not the japanese DMV. And the fact that these are such old motors means its probably not on a computer, its in some big warehouse filing cabinet in Chiba, Japan;)

I hope not:). The guys at Venus told me that if I gave them the number that they would be able to tell me all the info I needed from when they got the car. But is that where the number is? I tried a search but didnt come up with anything useful.
