vin number?

On my vin number, the Ts and the Ls are upside down. Is this normal? It seems very odd.

Kinda reminds me of the woman who went to the parts store looking for a 710 cap. Parts guys didn't know what the hell she was talking about. "I need a 710 cap" said the woman. OK I guess that the Ls are actually 7s but the others definately look like upside down Ts. Do the 1s have bases at the bottom?
