vin number difference
vin number difference
can anyone tell me why my vin # says my car series is stanza(u13) instead of Altima??

the altima used to be called the stanza altima and was codes a u13 the the car was changed to a L30 altima.

all true, but the L30 chassis designator is for 2nd gen (1998-2001).all 1st gen (1993 to 1997) are U13, even though 'stanza' was dropped sometime in 93/94.i do agree with you that they all carry the ka24de (USDM) though......driftingmy240sx wrote:the altima used to be called the stanza altima and was codes a u13 the the car was changed to a L30 altima.

stanza was on all the altimas through 95. although the stanza was alwaya the smaller of the 2 lables on the vehicle.
