I don't have the navigation system, but all 2007 G35s come with the 7" monitor and an auxillary input. It's nice to be able to connect my iPod to it and hear music, but having the option to feed video to the monitor is like a tease! You can only see video only when the car's not in motion. As a parent, I definitely wouldn't watch a movie while I was driving, but my kids could definitely benefit from it! I know that you can splice the wire and put a switch in to cut off the speed sensor in previous Nissan's and Infiniti models. Could someone tell me which wire this is on the 2007 G35 sedan's WITHOUT navi?

im guessing you need to trick the display into thinking the emergrncy brake is depressed. i'd like to know this too, my wife wants to watch movies on long trips.

Actually, I believe it's a speed sensor. Having the e-brake on still prevents video from being played. I've done it for my Navigation system for my Nissan, but my Infiniti doesn't have the Navi, so it's a different wire located somewhere else. Anyone?

Does the 07 sedan play video at all with the parking brake on? How is it input if it does? And what else is displayed on the screen?

It doesn't matter if the parking brake is on or not. It only matters if the car senses that the car is in motion, i.e. 1 mph or more. If the car is in motion, no video will be displayed throught the aux input. If the car comes to a stop, video will resume.

Only the video will be displayed, no other information whatsoever. Video is fed through the AUX inputs located in the center console.

So can someone override the speed sensor so that video can be played while the car is in motion?

Correction: The parking brake is also part of it and is detected. So both the e-brake and the speed sensor needs to be disabled for video to be displayed while in motion.

I guess I should wrote a separate question to clarify, but from th sounds of it, the 07's can display video on the screen with the existing input. the assessment that the speed seonsor signal to the video unit and the e-brake wire would probably have to be disabled. Perhaps if there are separate signals to the video display that disables and enables this, you can just disconnect or put a switch on those.

I would love to know a little more detail about the screen and the inputs. What else does/can the screen display? Radio and Climate controls? And what kind of inputs are there for video?

Just picked up my G35x last night, sales man said the ground wire that goes to the parking break is all you need to remove ? I am sure that most of us will want to find a way to fix this..

I wish that was true, but unfortunatelly, the parking brake isn't the only sensor that prevents video from being played while driving. It also detects the speed at which you're traveling. Anything faster than 0 mph and the video will cut out, and that's with the parking brake ON! LOL!
